Rigging
Alastor (fan rig)
A fan rig of the character 'Alastor' from the animated series Hazbin Hotel. The actual series is hand-drawn, but I wanted to challenge myself to rig a character while staying on-model with the show's artsyle.
Still very much a work in progress. He's definitely the most complicated rig I've made. He uses a ton of deformers to replicate the squishy, hand-drawn style of the show. Currently only a 180 degree rig, but only because I haven't finished his back view yet. He'll be able to fully rotate soon!
A quick animation I did to take him for a test run! You can't see it in the OpenGL view, but his eyes have
the option to glow when you render him.
The dots that make the 'string' of his monocle are attached to a deformation chain. This way, you only have
to animate the string as one object, rather than a peg chain of little circles!
Most of his parts have the option to switch between two types of deformers. One for easier animation, and
one for more precise movements.
His node view
His default pose. He actually has two identical staffs — one for each hand, depending on which he's holding
it in.
A few parts of the rig make use of weighted deformers to make animating elements in perspective simpler and
more intuitive. There are also options for more precise animation.
A screenshot from the show, for comparison. His model changes a lot from scene to scene, so I took elements
from all of my favorite scenes.
Jo
A more recent rig, Jo! She's a character I rigged to experiment with master controllers, so she's a bit more complicated than Poppet. She's capable of 180 degree rotation.

Poppet
A super simple rig, which I made for a class assignment. She was made to be as simple as possible.
Poppet! Super easy to animate!
